Doug Bath, vice president, Healthcare Finance, is responsible for all aspects of Walker Dunlop’s healthcare lending initiatives throughout the United States. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Bath has been actively involved in operations and investments of senior housing. His career started in 1995 in the operations department of Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. where he learned first-hand the intricacies of caring for seniors. After several years working in the field, Mr. Bath transitioned into the investments group at Sunrise and worked in many areas including the equity, debt and asset management departments. In 2003, he was promoted to senior vice president responsible for development and recapitalization joint venture transactions. In 2005, Mr. Bath joined JPMorgan to lead its senior housing initiatives as well as to source hospitality, self storage, medical office buildings and resort investments. While at JPMorgan, Mr. Bath played a key role in raising and investing a $700M+ equity fund. In 2006, Mr. Bath rejoined Sunrise in an expanded role which oversaw his previous development and recapitalization responsibilities as well as the asset management responsibilities of Sunrise’s 448 facilities which spanned 76 distinct portfolios and 36 different equity investment companies. Throughout his career, he has been involved in over $6.5B of senior housing transactions. Mr. Bath completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech and his master’s studies at University of Pittsburgh.
