Ted Hermes, senior vice president, joined Walker & Dunlop in 1997 as an analyst after working for several years as a commercial real estate appraiser. He provides financing solutions to commercial real estate developers and owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Over the last ten years, Mr. Hermes has secured financing for over 150 different transactions totaling in excess of $1.5 billion. He is currently the president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Metropolitan Washington where he recently served as chairman of the Income Property Committee (now the CREF Council) and he continues to serve on the executive committee for the Board of Governors. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is active with several local charities. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Maryland in 1990 and his master's degree in urban planning from the University of Virginia in 1997.
